Lalitpur Metropolitan City Launches Free Doctor-Equipped Ambulance Service
Lalitpur Metropolitan City has introduced a free ambulance service with an on-board doctor for city residents for the first time. The initiative, led by Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, aims to provide rapid emergency medical assistance and ensure that patients receive necessary treatment even before reaching the hospital.
According to the Lalitpur Metropolitan City, residents can access the service 24 hours a day by calling the emergency hotline 1131. After receiving a call, healthcare professionals will assess the patient's condition. If the situation is identified as an emergency, an ambulance equipped with medicines, oxygen and essential medical supplies, along with a medical team, will be dispatched to the patient's location.
Free Ambulance Service Within 15 Minutes
The metropolitan city has set a target of reaching the patient's location within approximately 15 minutes of receiving the emergency call. The initiative is designed to reduce delays in emergency care and improve access to timely medical services.
Once the ambulance arrives, the medical team will conduct an initial assessment and begin emergency treatment inside the ambulance. Depending on the patient's condition, the team will provide necessary first aid, oxygen support and other immediate medical assistance during transportation.
Patients Can Choose Their Hospital
Another key feature of the Lalitpur free ambulance service is that patients can be taken to the hospital preferred by their family, subject to the circumstances of the emergency.
The service is expected to be particularly useful for residents requiring urgent medical attention, as it combines ambulance transportation with on-the-spot emergency healthcare support.
How to Access Lalitpur's Free Ambulance Service
Lalitpur residents can call 1131 at any time to request the emergency ambulance service. The healthcare team will first evaluate the situation over the phone before dispatching the doctor-equipped ambulance when emergency intervention is required.
The initiative is expected to strengthen emergency healthcare services in Lalitpur and provide residents with faster access to medical assistance during critical situations.
